Happy Wednesday! The week is half over and it’s almost the weekend! Woot! I can’t wait for this weekend, as my Chicago peeps will be visiting! Can’t wait to show them around 🙂
Apologies for the lack of posting lately, there has been a lot of craziness going on, so I’ve been trying to slow down, relax and focus on myself for a bit. Hot yoga and vacation certainly helped!
Fourth of July weekend was five days of boating, eating, kayaking, biking and family time in Cedarville, MI! It was so relaxing and exactly what I needed!
A few highlights were –
- Putzing around in the boat to see all of the cool boathouses and boats in the area. Cedarville is known for wooden boats and there is even a Boat Building School where you can make your own, so we had to check that out too!
- Seeing the Cedarville fireworks set off next door to where we were. Definitely, a new experience to be able to see where the fireworks are coming from and then going off directly overhead. I may have had a bit of a sore neck afterwards, but it was worth it!
- Setting down my phone and unplugging, most of the pictures below are from the boyfriend’s camera 🙂 And we didn’t have service up there, so my phone was in airplane mode the majority of the time. (Speaking of which – I need to get a new point and shoot camera. I get tired of having to have my phone with me to take pictures and I don’t like to take my big bulky camera everywhere. I think this camera might be in my future – same as his and it takes great pictures. I also need it to be tough….because I drop everything! Any other recommendations on good tough/waterproof cameras?)
With that – here’s the rest of my recap in pictures, hope you enjoy! I just noticed – You can tell I didn’t take most of the pictures because there is only one of food! 😉

What did you do for the fourth?
